A sleek, sustainable hybrid table designed for dynamic spaces, blending modern technology, eco-conscious materials, and multi-functionality. Axis integrates fixed seating and modular surfaces to support flexibility, communal use, and space efficiency. Made as a concept for Araku Coffee's new branch in Milan, Italy.
The Brand
Created for the Indian homegrown brand Araku Coffee, known for interiors that are earthy, minimal, and rooted in natural materials. The design reflects their sustainable ethos, offering a furniture piece that aligns seamlessly with their clean, grounded aesthetic.
The product specifications were guided by the brand’s core values—fostering community, serving as a hub for connection and co-working, and integrating technology to create a modern, seamless user experience.
Layout & CMF
Designing the layout through Araku’s previous café structures for their new Milan location revealed a key gap in the proposal: the need for outdoor furniture that not only fosters connection but also responds thoughtfully to Milan’s local culture and climate.
For the CMF, it was important to use a natural and muted color palette that aligns with the brand’s aesthetic. The use of recycled and sustainable materials was also central to the design, reflecting Araku’s commitment to eco-consciousness and social awareness.
Key Features
Key features of Axis align seamlessly with the brand’s values, user expectations, and the goal of creating a welcoming, comfortable seating experience. The table’s multifunctional design supports co-working, casual dining, and social gatherings - making Axis a hybrid solution that reflects Araku’s ethos of community, sustainability, and modern living.

The technical drawing pack includes Orthographic Projection, Exploded View, Bill of Materials, and Detail Drawings—providing clear guidance for manufacturing, assessing feasibility, and ensuring accurate assembly. This comprehensive set supports efficient production, material sourcing, and process clarity.
